Most scuba diving is considered “recreational” and there are many different specialty certification within the limits of recreational diving to challenge you, to prepare you for diving in various conditions, to increase your knowledge and safety, and to introduce you to the many different ways of enjoying your time under water.
This class will teach you the techniques of skindiving that you will use to dive and swim safely underwater with mask, fins, and snorkel. You will also learn about the marine environment, currents, surge, some basic applied sciences that relate to skindiving, and marine and environmental hazards, how to avoid them, rescues, and appropriate first aid.
You will spend approximately 3 hours in the classroom and 2 hours learning and practicing skills in confined water before completing two open water skindives.
You will learn about dive equipment, the science of diving, responsible diving practices and the environment. You will also learn many skills in the water and have as much time as you need to practice so you are comfortable and confident in the water.
Where you do your dives is up to you. South Florida offers a wide range of dive sites from which to choose. And there is 70% of the earth that is under water, so if you want to go somewhere special let us know and we can take care of the details.
The Rescue Diver course will train you to be aware of conditions and stressors that may lead to distress and how to avoid them or recognize them in yourself and others.
You will learn the knowledge and skills to safely don, dive with, doff and store a dry-suit; and be introduced to the different types of suits and undergarments so you can make an informed decision on purchasing a dry-suit. You will learn:
As a diver trained to dive at high altitude, you will be ready to explore alpine lakes, visit more challenging dive sites, see sunken forests, and satisfy your curiosity for “I wonder what’s down there?” Altitude diving also means exploring places many people have never seen.
